About Shugarman Architecture + Design Inc.

Shugarman Architecture + Design (SA+D) is a Calgary based architecture, interior design, and urban design firm with 32 years of experience creating thoughtful, bespoke environments across luxury residential, hospitality, multi-family, institutional, and commercial sectors.

Founded in 1994 by Michael Shugarman, the firm was established with a deeply held belief in design’s ability to make the world a better place. At its core was the conviction that, despite our differences, people share much more than what divides them, and he wanted to connect people —to each other, to the natural world around them, and to who we each are as individuals.

Today, we continue to advance this ambition with an unwavering commitment to creating meaningful environments through our attention to the beauty of materials, meticulously crafted details, and the play of light on form to connect us to each other and the world around us.
