Sciacca International Projects, led by the visionary Walter Sciacca, has been awarded the prestigious title of “Best Motorsport Real Estate Development Company 2025” at the Sustainable Building Awards. This recognition not only celebrates engineering excellence, but also marks a new frontier for motorsport, urban planning, and environmental sustainability. The award is especially significant as it honors a project that successfully merges high-performance sport, architectural innovation, and ecological responsibility, opening new horizons for the future of urban infrastructure.

The winning project, the Floating Street Circuit, represents a groundbreaking shift in the world of sports infrastructure. It is the world’s first floating urban racetrack: a structure that blends land and sea into a single immersive, technological, and sustainable experience. The circuit unfolds across ultra-stable floating platforms, connected to a land-based section that houses paddocks, pit boxes, hospitality areas, and race control. This configuration allows for total design freedom, overcoming the limitations of traditional street circuits and enabling curves and chicanes that would be impossible on conventional roads.

The spectator experience has been completely reimagined: floating grandstands, yacht-based hospitality, augmented and virtual reality, interactive fan zones, and concerts on floating stages turn each event into a multisensory spectacle. The circuit is not just a venue for racing, but a permanent hub for tourism, entertainment, and technological innovation. It attracts investment, creates specialized employment, and positions the host territory as a symbol of forward-thinking development.

What makes the Floating Street Circuit a global model is its deep integration with the environment. The floating platforms are engineered for maximum stability and safety, with advanced technological solutions that ensure minimal ecological impact. The entire facility is non-invasive and powered by renewable energy sources. Anchoring systems double as artificial marine habitats, promoting biodiversity and contributing to the regeneration of local ecosystems.

Internal transportation will be managed by electric water taxis and sustainable ferries, while the structure is designed to operate year-round in fully floating mode. After each race, road traffic is restored and the circuit transforms into a multifunctional platform, ready to host sporting events, immersive experiences, technical trials, press presentations, incentive programs, and much more. Thanks to its modular structure, the circuit can be dismantled and stored for occasional use, or transported to other destinations with the necessary adaptations. This flexibility allows for entirely different and customized layouts in new locations.

The floating base also enables quick and easy track reconfiguration, a clear advantage over permanent or urban circuits, where changes require complex and costly structural interventions. This flexibility is not only technical, but strategic: it allows the circuit to adapt to diverse urban contexts while respecting landscape, environmental, and logistical constraints. In this sense, the Floating Street Circuit becomes a dynamic infrastructure, capable of evolving and engaging with its surroundings. And this is where the project reveals its most ambitious scope: the Floating Street Circuit is not an isolated facility, but a true model of floating development. A platform capable of generating economic, social, and cultural value far beyond motorsport.

Surrounding the circuit, the project envisions the creation of a floating district, a waterfront real estate development featuring luxury hotels, a convention center, restaurants, pubs, shopping centers, floating residences, private villas, and even the world’s first Floating Kart Circuit, along with other sports facilities. An urban ecosystem on water, where living, working, and leisure blend into a unique and sustainable experience. This approach not only redefines the concept of coastal cities, but also paves the way for new forms of resilient urbanization, capable of adapting to climate change and enhancing marine environments.

The solutions adopted promote sustainable mobility, autonomous energy production, and high quality of life, turning the district into a permanent laboratory for urban innovation. Sciacca International Projects is not limited to a single track: the format is scalable and replicable across various coastal contexts, opening new opportunities for motorsport, entertainment, and sustainable urban development. Each territory involved has the chance to become a symbol of progress, environmental balance, and technological leadership.

Walter Sciacca brings over thirty years of experience to the field, with a career marked by prestigious roles, including serving as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of the Enzo and Dino Ferrari International Circuit in Imola.

In that role, he spearheaded the sporting and economic revival of the facility, transforming it into an international benchmark for motorsport. He later expanded his activity globally, offering strategic consultancy first in the racetrack sector and then in innovative and luxury real estate development, which today represents the core of his professional focus.

He is the author of 52 original project concepts, including the renowned “Luxury Villas & Private Circuit,” which redefined the concept of private luxury residences integrated with a private racetrack. The floating infrastructure sector, while representing a small part of his overall activity, has seen Sciacca emerge as a leading figure, and the award he received is proof of that.

His ability to turn bold ideas into architectural and engineering realities has made Sciacca International Projects a global reference point for those seeking innovation, impact, and sustainability.

The Sustainable Building Award, granted with the motivation “Best Motorsport Real Estate Development Company 2025,” is not just a recognition, it is a confirmation: the future of architecture and engineering has already begun, and it floats on the horizon.
