BUILD Q2 2023 4 News istoric Jack’s Bay to include championship course by Nicklaus Design in addition to Par 3 course designed by Tiger Woods and TGR Design Nicklaus Design—the world’s leading golf course design company— announced today they have commenced work on an 18-hole championship layout at Jack’s Bay, the one-ofa-kind exclusive resort club and residential community that features four miles of magnificent white sand beaches on the Atlantic coastline on the island of Eleuthera in The Bahamas. Jack’s Bay will be the first Nicklaus Heritage® course in the world, as well as include the rare Nicklaus real estate branding rights as a Nicklaus Community—a distinction afforded to only a very select collection of developments around the world and the very first in the Caribbean. BUILD Q2 2023 10 Mar23018 ulia Milner, owner of ESSARC East Side Studio Architects, has loved the process of creation since she was a child. In adulthood, she pursued this passion and worked hard to obtain a bachelor’s degree in French and visual studies from Dartmouth College, as well as a master’s degree in architecture from Yale. Following this, Julia worked at award-winning design firms in Connecticut, New York, and Boston. As an adventurous spirit, Julia was keen to travel. She embarked on a bike trip through Europe to sketch and photograph inspiring places across the continent, which helped her realise her favourite aspects of architecture. On the ESSARC website, Julia is quoted as saying, “I realised how vital a sense of place is to our psyche – European towns are layered with culture and history that add meaning to our lives and inform the design of new buildings.” Shortly after she returned, Julia was encouraged to open her own office. Later, she travelled to Greece and Turkey to study classical and Middle Eastern architecture and was struck with the inspiration to write her first book, The Shepherd’s Song. Following her return from this trip, she moved to Arizona, where she worked on architectural projects, books, and paintings from a studio in a historic house with views of a pristine desert.
