Though there were constraints going into the project, with PSA looking to restore an abandoned hotel, the team didn’t let this hinder their creative flair, and went on to be grateful for the challenges they faced. PSA had the chance to prove it was worthy of its award-winning title through its seamless marrying of traditional and modern, a technique that had been neglected prior to its involvement with the project. Its location was far too good to refuse, leading to PSA’s overwhelming commitment to seeing that this project was an awe-inspiring success. The team narrowed down the essential aspects that they sought to maintain, such as the traditional arches from the original architecture, and proceeded to develop solutions that would combine their ideas with the original foundations to create something spectacular. Now, Aethos Ericeira is a hotel that boasts stunning views, gorgeous interior design, and holds an overall aesthetic that’s both cohesive and contemporary.
