Based in Valencia, Amusement Logic specialise in the design, planning, development and construction of all types of tourist and leisure complexes. We spoke to Paco Caudet, Business Development Manager at the company, to find out more about their exciting industry.

2016 marks our 20th year in business. In 1996, we were founded by an interdisciplinary group of experts from the leisure industry. Two decades later, we have become an international leader with over 500 projects accomplished in 57 countries.

Our success didn’t happen overnight, and is due to the hard work of each and every one of our staff. Our business philosophy is based on honesty and building on our previous project experience. We are aware that the majority of clients who come to us do so without having a knowledge of the sector, so it is our job to make sure that they are in the best hands possible.
For each and every project, the designs have to reach a balance between creativity and profitability, and this can only be achieved if the designers have gone through the experience of making this happen before. This is perhaps our biggest asset when it comes to working on new projects.

From our experience, project briefing is crucial. We take great care in being thorough and informative right from the outset. The more information we can obtain in the early stages of design, the more effective the process of decision-making and problem-solving will be. This will include aspects such as local regulations, planning requirements or other external restrictions.

Alongside this experience, Amusement Logic, SL has the infrastructure and human capital that allows us to offer a wide and varied range of products and services. This means that we have the tools needed for any kind of fun project, regardless of its size, complexity and nature.
Furthermore, we have a highly motivated team that recognise the benefits and quality of working in unison, where we are constantly investigating the use of new materials and the adoption of new construction processes. Another key to our success is that we are constantly challenging norms and conventions by proposing innovative solutions. Sometimes they may be unique, even unexpected. But we are definitely daring and force ourselves to visualise what others maybe have not even thought of before.

What truly sets us apart is our ability to gain the client´s trust, which is done by proposing what is really best for the project. We do so in two ways: firstly, we use the latest in technology to maintain an open dialogue from the beginning. This involves simple things such as regular video-conferencing with the client so they can see the project´s advancement. From our experience, it is not necessary to take a leap of faith and wait for months to see results, and then he/she may or may not be happy with your work. As such, the client is involved in the project from the outset.

Secondly, our visuals are crisp and clear throughout the project’s phases, and very close to what the end result will appear as in the end. We achieve this with the latest in 3D technology and a great team of illustrators.

A true testament to our success is that we have achieved a great number of ‘firsts’. We were behind Europe´s first immersive zoo, the world´s first artificial Canyoning Park, the Middle East´s first waterpark. All of these firsts have been conceived for the benefit of human beings. We strive to improve their physical and emotional wellbeing and we study the environmental factors that have a positive impact on people. We take into account the philosophical implications of this quest for happiness in our architecture. And we make sure no ends remain loose. The projects are optimised in terms of functionality, operation and investment.
Ultimately, our aim is to continue bringing use, wellbeing, innovation and profitability together. To achieve this harmony, we will continue studying the symbols that represent the values, goals and principles that our clients deem important. We believe that achieving success in design involves people from all disciplines and at every level working together in a unified effort to create inspiring environments that enhance the human condition.

With 2017 on the horizon, we are very optimistic about the future of our company. At the moment, we are working intently on the development of new theming concepts for hotels. The experience of staying at a hotel may be reduced to functionality in a minimalist environment, or it can be part of the overall holiday experience. Themed hotels do not have to be restricted to unusual imagery or the extension of outside themes into the accommodation, it can be a theme in itself. We see an interesting future in this kind of concepts.

More specifically, we are working intently on projects related to Qatar’s 2020 World Cup, such as the creation of an artificial island resort near Doha. This will be a game-changer in the architectural approach to reclaimed land projects as it focuses on quality development instead of the overbuilt real-estate projects found in other destinations. We believe that artificial islands provide an opportunity to create improved landscape environments. Watch this space!
