The Sigenergy 12kW inverter was selected, with this allowing for multiple points of solar connection and facilitating PV oversizing where required. This was coupled with 27 hours of battery storage capacity, which would power the home in the evening. The inverter also allowed for a 12kW EV DC charger, which gave the customer the ability to charge at high speeds throughout the day but still have surplus solar energy left over at night. As for the results, this specific combination resulted in the customer increasing their charge potential by 70%, as well as significantly reducing their household bills. It has been six months now since the installation, and the customer has generated 6,700kW hours of electricity, with 30% of this going towards the multiple electric vehicles powered by the DC charger. At this current rate, it is estimated that the annual savings for the customer will exceed £4,000, which quickly adds up.
