Since opening its doors, the company has delivered designs for over 20,000 units to housebuilders throughout the UK. Levent says, “As the smallest and newest ground investigation contractor and consultant firm in the UK, our fees are very competitive, often a fraction of what our competitors charge. We also offer lower fees for domestic clients who are unable to claim VAT.” However, building a large client base can be a slow affair. IBEX CE is currently facing a few challenges such as online visibility and being able to compete with larger, more established brands. Levent explains, “There seems to be a lack of support for smaller firms in the industry. For example, corporate clients and established brands should request at least 3 quotations from different firms. This hardly ever happens. If we don’t have the opportunity to quote, it’s difficult to show how competitive we can be on price. Many of our competitors have been acquired by big cooperatives and that’s resulting in a monopoly in the industry.” Undeterred, IBEX CE has big plans for the rest of 2023. The company hopes to invest in online marketing to resolve its visibility and SEO issues as well as buying more geotechnical software. Staff will be undertaking further training and the company will apply for more health and safety accreditations too. Levent says, “The forecast for the year looks bright.
