Seth started the business based on a chance project given to him by a friend, and through hard work and dedication, that one project turned into more work, initially operating from a driveway, before the business began to adapt and grow over time. Today, Ernsdorf Design services a wide range of prestigious clientele, such as: Marriott Hotels, Waldorf Astoria, Hilton Hotels, W Hotels, Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, LACMA, MOLAA, along with such prestigious architects as Frank Gehry and Peter Zumthor, in addition to many private residences as well. Since its beginning more than 15 years ago, the company has gone from strength-tostrength, resulting in the completion of a large project consisting of 35 custom concrete furniture pieces and fire pits which are a main feature in Frank Gehry’s recently completed project in downtown Los Angeles, The Grand. There were many challenges the team faced, such as a tight deadline, difficult site access, and the immeasurable task of installing extremely heavy concrete furniture without motorised equipment. Despite the difficulties, the deadline was achieved. Site access issues were rectified through cooperation with the site contractor, and as a result of hard work and careful planning, pieces of concrete furniture weighing more than 1200lbs were moved to the tenth-floor plaza of the hotel without the use of any motorised equipment. Ernsdorf Design listens carefully to the needs of its clients, using careful consideration and honesty to provide the best possible service. With the unique nature of the craft, the team have become increasingly comfortable with producing precast concrete pieces, while requests can sometimes be a little out of the ordinary, the company consults with various experts to ensure the successful production of the item in question to ensure each clients complete satisfaction.
