Construction & Engineering Awards 2018

Build 2018 Construction & Engineering Awards Central to the living space, and looking out over the garden, they wanted to create a contemporary, bespoke Bulthaup kitchen which puts the chef of the house right in the centre of the room, creating an enjoyable, light-filled living space which delivers for the needs of the whole family. In addition, in what represents an extremely rare achievement within a heritage neighbourhood, Rigby & Rigby also secured planning permission for an innovative stacking car lift, which transports the client’s cars from street level to basement level and provide the owners with direct access to the property. Extensive collaborative work at the planning stages and the close working relationships between members of the large onsite team, under the firm’s direction, ensured Rigby & Rigby was able to deliver the project with minimal impact on the surrounding community, with a basement top slab installed at an early stage, enabling work to continue on the extension with minimal noise. More than just a beautiful design for the client, Rigby & Rigby worked hard to build intuitive functionality into every aspect of the project. From the outset, the team worked hard to ensure designs for bespoke furniture, joinery or lighting looked beautiful, but delivered outstanding functionality too. For example, the property includes an office with bespoke joinery commissioned by Rigby & Rigby to include discreet channels for cabling and Wi-Fi boosters, which are easily accessible but invisible, giving a clean and uncluttered finish to the space. As a result of this attention to detail and client focus, Rigby & Rigby has crafted an international reputation on its commitment to delivering intelligent design with an element of refinement, client lifestyle aspirations and ergonomics to create interior spaces that feel right, function perfectly, and look extraordinary. professionals. This allows Rigby & Rigby to monitor and coordinate every stage across the disciplines, delivering to the highest standards and consistently exceeding client expectations. This distinction is vital for the firm, as the UK’s capital has a thriving construction market that is highly competitive. To further differentiate itself from its competitors, Rigby & Rigby utilises its extensive knowledge of the industry, which it has gained through a strong in- house skill set which we have developed over many years. The firm use this knowledge to ensure that they always do the best for the client and deliver their aspirations for their project. For clients, the company offers a fully managed in house turnkey solution taking them all the way from acquisition and inception, to completion and aftercare service. The team always exceed the client’s expectations and quality on completion whilst still pushing the boundaries with design and innovation, and as such mark themselves out as the best possible option for those seeking support on a new project. An example of the effectiveness of the firm’s approach and expertise is its recently completed 18-month project to redevelop a family home in Kensington Mansions, one of London’s most exclusive neighbourhoods. It was handed over to the client on time and on budget in April 2018. The project was to transform an elegant Grade II listed house into a spacious, contemporary and light-filled home, including the creation of a large basement extension with gym, pool and entertainment space and the complete and careful refurbishment of the original Grade II listed home. Designed around the needs and lifestyle of the Scandinavian client, the design ethos was to flood the contemporary spaces with light, whilst specialist joiners, plasterers and heritage consultants breathed new life into the property’s original balustrades, flooring and cornicing - creating a seamless transition between the heritage and more contemporary architectural styles.
