Architecture Awards 2026 Highly experienced in the world of premium brands and luxury, sectors where lighting and visual design serve as fundamental elements in defining the identity of a space or an experience, Expect Nothing thrives within the realm of luxury hospitality and entertainment. Its portfolio spans venues such as TWIGA and Armani Privé, places where lighting becomes a tool to shape perception, enhance architecture, create different moods throughout the day, and establish the relationship between space, people, and identity. The expansion of its work into the world of corporate live communication, collaborating on projects where creativity, technology, and storytelling converge and express the values of international brands, has been another defining element of Expect Nothing’s journey. Projects have followed with leading Italian brands like Ferrari and Campari, as well as international corporations such as Pandora and Jägermeister. Feliciano told us: “These experiences have strengthened our belief that our role goes beyond designing light. Whether we are working on a luxury venue, a festival, or a corporate experience, our mission remains the same: to create environments that communicate identity, generate emotion, and leave a lasting impression.” Central to the Expect Nothing ethos is the belief that light should never be treated as just as technical layer added at the end of a project. Rather, it must be an integral part of the creative concept from the beginning. Across everything from music festivals and concerts to luxury hospitality venues, corporate events, and product launches, the studio collaborates with producers, brands, owners, artists, and architects – anyone who is looking for more than just functional lighting design across their projects. Creating memorable environments that leave a lasting impression on people from all over the world, Expect Nothing succeeds in the face of such diversity by adapting its creative approach to the unique identity of every client. Thus, rather than applying a signature style, its aim is develop a visual language that belongs to the project itself. The combination of creativity and technical expertise sits at the heart of Expect Nothing’s output, and the studio is involved in the entire creative process, from concept development to technical coordination and creative direction. Its integrated approach sees a clear creative vision preserved, without sacrificing on real-world deliverability. Expect Nothing’s ambition to design experiences that people remember long after an event has ended is embodied through LINK, a live show created by internationally renowned DJ and producer Ilario Alicante. Conceived as an immersive visual narrative where lighting, scenography, video, and music become inseparable elements of a single experience, LINK is meaningful as every choice was made with emotion, not spectacle. Following the success of LINK, the remainder of 2026 represents an important step for Expect Nothing, which remains committed to continuing to develop projects that reflect its combination approach to creative direction, lighting, and immersive experiences. One example of this is its involvement with Ex Macello Milano, a project the team have been developing over the course of the last three years. The role of this creative set design and lighting studio has been to develop lighting and visual concepts that enhance the identity of this space, a former industrial area that has been transformed into a cultural destination where music, creativity, and urban regeneration meet. Since the project reaches its conclusion this September, it is entering the final phase of transformation, becoming part of Milan’s wider urban regeneration. Expect Nothing’s lighting design project for AMNESIA MILANO, which is also managed by the same group than runs Ex Macello Milano, is another example of its most notable projects of the past year. This project combines spatial and scenographic concepts thanks to a molecular-shaped LED system that illuminates and animates the space, along with a more classic yet still impactful DMX lighting setup. Strong ties with communities across Italy and beyond reflect the commitment that Expect Nothing has to telling stories and driving both emotion and innovation through its work. Whether it is designing an initial concept, undertaking 3D visualisations, or carrying out on-site delivery, this studio embraces new ways of thinking, championing collaboration, and pushing creative boundaries. As a result, we are delighted to recognise it here as the Best Creative Set Design & Lighting Studio 2026 – Italy.
