BUILD Architecture Awards 2023 50 ayton Consulting Ltd. was founded in the humble home office of Professional Engineer, Mark S. Layton, in August of 1994. Mark devoted his time to servicing the growing construction industry within the Pacific Northwest, and in turn grew his company from a single seedling into a respected blooming business that specialized in glazing engineering. Mark’s expertise in fenestration and his love of family, friends, and faith guided Layton Consulting to become one of the leading glass consulting firms in the industry today. Sadly, following his sudden passing in 2015, the legacy of Layton Consulting rested on his son Jonathan Layton, and new partners Ivan Chu and Jonathan Adams. Together with their dynamic team, Layton Consulting has climbed to new heights and seized opportunities that Mark could have only dreamed of. Despite the challenges of a sudden transition, the original values of trust, transparency, and the support of clients have never wavered. The customer-focused business approach that was established at inception remains central to the success of each project and pushes the goal of a continued elevation of value to clients. The team today has nourished and built on the community that Mark started, managing an extensive network of glazing contractors, window and door manufacturers, builders, and architects.
