Architecture Awards 2023 BUILD 33 The building’s second storey, connected to the main building, is its primary floor. It serves as a space for students’ independent activities, production exhibitions, and presentations. In addition to the 522-seat main hall designed for lectures and events, there is a large gallery and an activity common for workshops. It also features IC3, which promotes international exchange on campus, and the Cube, where a global lounge and café have been opened. SMA hopes that the building will become a central facility where students can experience different cultures alongside the rich natural environment of their campus. As a result of its impressive work on a wide variety of projects, consistently creating eye-catching and beautiful buildings, Shinsaku Munemoto and Associates has been awarded Most Attractive Architecture Design Studio, Japan, in the Architecture Awards 2023.
