Specialists in refurbishing farmhouses in rural Tuscany for modern living, Alessandra and her team are this year celebrating a decade of design and innovation. Atireless architect who lives to exist on worksites, Alessandra has developed her knowledge and understanding of the architecture industry from the ground up, constantly communicating with labourers, contractors, fellow architects and customers. After graduating in 2003, Alessandra spent seven years with a major Milanese design company, transforming the urban plan of the Castello region of Florence for real estate and landscape development. After curating her knowledge of public and private housing design and collaborating with an established Florentine design studio on Italian and international projects, Alessandra was able to strike out on her own. She brought her individualised aesthetic and wealth of technical knowledge to Architetto Alessandra Cipriani, the firm that she established in Piazza Mentana in the historic centre of Florence in 2010, and since then has transformed hundreds of properties across Florence. Continual training, research and a passion for architecture has seen the studio’s range of services expand and diversify over the years, enabling Alessandra and her team to create bespoke projects tailored to each clients’needs, aswell as the architectural, urban and landscape contexts in which each project is carried out. Having experienced both sectors, Alessandra prefers to work on residential properties rather than commercial, and soon after making the decision to specialise, found her niche in transforming Tuscan farmhouses. Taking inspiration from the vast expanses of natural landscape that surround many of the farmhouses she works on, Alessandra’s designs concentrate on energy efficiency alongside aesthetics and comfort to achieve sustainable, modern homes, that are proudly situated in landscapes unrivalled across Europe.
