Simon explores how the firm has evolved over the years and the techniques it has employed to ensure success. “Our firm focuses on forestry and firewood, and in addition we have always done gardening for many of our customers. The landscaping was a later introduction to our service offering, as we gained experience we became very knowledgeable about the garden in regard to naming plants, shrubs and trees and which plants, shrubs and trees go in the garden. This is important for our clients, and we came to realise that customer will pay extra if there can see you know what there want, and as such we will always talk it over with the customer when we first look at the job and the expectation of us are and the customers e.g. if there have to move thing, everything in writing so there are no errors. Most customers have a good idea of how they want their garden to look like, so on the first contact with them we talk them through this and explore the possibilities. Then, we go away and make a plan with the details and which would be broken down, so there can see the cost of everything. We go and see the customer a few times to make sure we have got right and when we will start the job and we will always go that extra mile to be sure that the customer is happy. “Fundamentally, we have encountered many changes over our 70 years of trade but we have always gone from strength to strength and that is a good testament to a well-run family business.
