LAG18003 Company: RPC bpi recycled products – Plaswood Group Phone: +44 333 202 6800 Website: www.plaswoodgroup.com laswood’s roots date back to the 1980’s, and today it is manufactured by RPC bpi recycled products, at its dedicated factory in Dumfries, Scotland. Since then the brand has flourished and now Plaswood leads the way in the production of Plaswood lumber, construction materials and street furniture; providing structural and practical landscaping solutions. Maintenance free, rot proof and algae resistant are just some of the benefits of the well regarded Plaswood product range. Designed not to wear, rust or degrade with age, Plaswood, made from 100% recycled plastic, is a robust material that outlasts its traditional competitors such as concrete, steel and wood by decades - adding real value over the life of a product. Although robust, Plaswood is flexible in the sense it can be formed into virtually any shape and is versatile as it can be used alongside alongside steel, concrete and other traditional materials too. The high performance product is non-absorbing and weatherproof, which makes it a more sustainable and cost-effective than traditional building materials. Its eco-friendly credentials are enhanced as it doesn’t require painting or preservation once fitted, and after usage it can be fully recycled for further environmental consideration. Constantly evolving and adding new and improved products to their growing range, Plaswood Group recently launched a contemporary curved ‘Edge Bench’ and developed Plaswood Gates to add to its extensive fencing range. The new gate and fencing designs incorporate a galvanized frame for a strong and resilient structure. Mike Baxter, External Affairs Director at RPC bpi group discusses the product’s evolution in more detail and highlights how the firm works to ensure that it continues to meet its clients’ needs. “The last 12 months have been excellent for Plaswood. Our business continues to do well, especially in the landscaping sector where Plaswood’s long life qualities are the key ingredient for the successful construction of fences and pathways. We are part of RPC bpi recycled products. Our parent company British Polythene Industries PLC was acquired in 2016 by the RPC P RPC Group, who themselves are the largest manufacturer of rigid plastic packaging in Europe. With our two businesses combined we can offer our customers a closed loop option for their products.” Ultimately, Plaswood is truly a closed loop product for the 21st century, as Mike is proud to conclude. “Overall, we believe that with increased product accessibility, easy installation, long-term cost-saving and environmental benefits we will see Plaswood products becoming the obvious alternative to traditional timber. We continually seek to improve our performance by setting objectives and targets combined with clear management programmes and initiatives to minimise our impact on the environment. As the market for sustainable construction and building materials continues to grow we will invest and enlarge our production facilities to meet this increased demand for our products.” Status: Completed Location: Plaswood Decking, Contact: PlaswoodGroup.com
