BUILD - 2019 Home And Garden Awards

Build 2019 Home And Garden Awards 62 New Build Residential Construction Company of the Year 2019 – UK & Show Home Interior Design Service of the Year 2019 - UK Redrow Homes is one of the UK’s leading housebuilders, comprising fifteen divisions and operating across much of England and Wales. We profile the firm to find out more and explore the secrets behind its success. Emma has more than 14 years’ experience having previously worked with an array of high end residential and commercial brands. Her close knit in-house team works with a small group of hand-picked interior design agencies to create the beautiful show homes that promote Redrow’s developments. In doing so, they are guided by carefully devel- oped ‘personas’ of the people they think would live in those very homes. These personas have been skilfully crafted following extensive research, including interviews with customers and sales teams. For example, Redrow’s premium five-bedroom Highgrove detached may be lovingly designed for Mr and Mrs Gardiner, a high-earning couple in their late 40s. He has his own property development business and she helps with the business accounts. They love to entertain and like expensive wines and cars. They have one son and one daughter who is 17 and loves to horse ride; her brother is 15 and plays rugby. They entertain friends at the weekends, and in the summer hold classic garden parties. They have two dogs called Maisie and Freddy. A smaller, less expensive property like the three-bedroom Ludlow semi may be styled for contemporary ‘starters’ Gemma and Ben, first time buyers in their late 20s. He is a PE teacher and she works in media. They enjoy en- tertaining friends and are very close to their family. As they find themselves busy in the week due to work commitments, they love to make the most of the outdoors at weekends, walking in the nearby countryside. They love to spend their Sunday afternoons cuddled up on the sofa watching films. A new offering this year has been Redrow’s Heritage Lifestyle product; homes tailored for those who want fewer but larger bedrooms and the luxury of an en-suite to every bedroom. Three-bedroom Lifestyle homes have the same downstairs reception rooms and entertaining space as a four-bedroom property, for example. Originally designed with downsizers in mind, these homes are proving increasingly popular among families with older children and couples who like to entertain. Moving forward, continuing to enhance its service offering and range of homes will remain Redrow Homes’ ongoing focus as it looks towards a bright and prosperous future. stablished in 1974 by Steve Morgan CBE with the help of a £5,000 loan from his father, Redrow Homes has flourished over the years. Today it is one of the most successful and acclaimed property developers in the country with a £1.92bn turnover. Last year, Redrow built over 5,900 premium family homes across England and Wales and in October 2018 the company completed its 100,000th home. Over a history spanning more than 40 years, Redrow has earned a unique reputation for quality and building beautiful homes where people want to live. To help achieve this, Redrow has developed three sustainable business themes: Creating Thriving Communities by Building Responsibly and Valuing People. Operating in a competitive market, the firm has had to work hard to differentiate itself from other home builders. Redrow’s homes stand out from the crowd thanks to the attention to detail of their design, their superior specification, including top-name brands for fixtures, fittings and appliances, and less obvious – though greatly appreciated - features such as higher ceilings, deeper skirting boards and taller doors and windows, all of which contribute to the overall final quality. Operating across England and Wales, Redrow places a strong emphasis on providing high quality homes in prime locations, and its housing collections feature designs to suit a range of buyers – from the Heritage Collection with its Arts & Crafts inspired period-style features and the Georgian-influenced architecture of the Regent Collection, to high-end bespoke developments for the London market. Having the right show homes is a pivotal part of marketing Redrow’s new homes and overseeing this process falls to Emma Brindley, Head of Interior Design, who joined Redrow in 2013. Emma and her team are responsible for achieving the classic, stylish, yet effortless look of Redrow’s show homes across the country, designed to be aspirational yet reflecting how people really live. An expert in interior design, Emma attends design trade shows across Europe and the UK to ensure Redrow stays at the forefront of innovative design. She is frequently called upon by the media as an expert spokesperson on all manner of interior design stories, and can comfortably provide commentary and show home imagery on a number of topics.
