Danish Craftsmanship Meets Modern Technology Contact Details: Contact: Vikum Ratnayake Company: Idealcombi UK Web Address: https://idealcombi.com/ For over 25 years, Idealcombi UK has partnered with architects, building designers and contractors from the earliest stages of the planning process. Offering design expertise that far exceeds that of a normal window and door supplier, the company has built lasting industry partnerships. Idealcombi’s mission is simple yet ambitious: to design and build windows and doors for better homes. The company is guided by four core values. Innovation that develops smarter and more efficient solutions. Quality assurance that delivers products and services that clients can trust. Responsibility to care for its staff, customers and the environment, and integrity to keep its promises and nurture relationships. Idealcombi is known for its groundbreaking innovation. As such, the company has been revolutionising the window industry since it launched its first aluminium-clad sash window frame in 1988. Idealcombi has continued the trend by developing its range of energy-efficient, highperformance windows and doors ever since. Products such as sustainable timber-aluminium windows and slimline Scandinavian-style doors stand out for their sheer ingenuity. Idealcombi’s proprietary idealcoreTM technology, which protects timber from rotting and keeps heat in, comes with an impressive 25-year warranty. Where many suppliers and manufacturers were left playing catch-up following the introduction of the Building Safety Act in 2022, Idealcombi stayed ahead of the curve. This amendment to UK construction industry legislation was prompted in response to the Grenfell Tower disaster. It heralded significant changes for the construction and renovation of high-risk residential buildings such as those over 18 metres tall (or 7 storeys high). Managing Director James Hutchines explains: “A key implication of this is that much earlier involvement is required from suppliers. This enables building schemes to secure approval from the Building Safety Regulator (BSR). Today, it’s no longer sufficient for architects, contractors, and developers to focus on product selection late in the process. The new regulatory landscape requires a ‘golden thread’ of information from concept through to completion. This ensures that every decision and every detail is fully documented and compliant. It’s where Idealcombi excels. We don’t just supply windows and doors, we offer design expertise as part of our service. By doing so, we ensure performance, safety and regulatory requirements are addressed from the outset.” At Idealcombi, every project is unique. From custom-built contemporary homes to renovating and refurbishing existing homes, Idealcombi’s attention to detail is what really makes the company stand out. Whatever the size or type of project, Idealcombi’s experienced team works with its clients to ensure that projects run smoothly from design to installation. Idealcombi recently delivered a refurbishment project in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. The project required a full building alteration to create 81 new spacious homes. It’s part of an affordable housing scheme in one of London’s most expensive districts. With a brief to preserve existing building facades and retain the heritage feel of the structures, Idealcombi created modern windows that mimicked the building’s original style. Building houses to last means using better materials to achieve better outcomes. Idealcombi is currently working with Camden Council on its ambitious Agar Grove project. The project aims to deliver 496 high-quality homes, 348 of which are built to Passivhaus standards. The goal is to decrease fuel poverty and improve the quality of life of many Camden residents. Looking to the future, Idealcombi’s mission remains to continue pushing the boundaries of design and performance. By doing so, future generations will inherit buildings that are both resilient and inspiring.
