Utilising a holistic approach to design, Rigby & Rigby’s work combines the individual elements of architecture, interior design, lighting and technology from the outset. The result is a fully resolved interior which is both usable and luxurious. At the forefront of luxury property design and development management, Rigby & Rigby delivers unrivalled homes from concept to completion. The company’s full-service capabilities span across Development Management, Architecture (RIBA), Interior Design (BIID & SBID), Construction and Private Client Services, combining to create the most exceptional properties in the world. Design and Lawson Robb, is a founding member of the luxury design group Allect International Design Group. Together all the three companies provide the perfect balance between R&D influenced design-development, focused interior design, interior architecture and yacht design. Recently, in summer of 2018, Rigby & Rigby completed its 100th project, which is a testimony to its dedication to excellence and innovative focus on creating unique luxury residences. For this project, Rigby & Rigby had the task of combining two Grade II listed S buildings to create a spacious family home. To successfully execute this, transitional spaces were designed by Rigby & Rigby with glazed double doors to open up the area between the original, period property and the contemporary rear extension. Every aspect of this project marked an opportunity to push boundaries with technology throughout the property such as Lutron home control. The 4.4 metre sky frame was the biggest, fully automated set of doors ever made by the specialist manufacturer, which required research, development and testing before being installed on site. The roof of the contemporary extension was carefully designed as a nature roof to maintain biodiversity in the local area. This unique project also provided a pleasant outlook for the neighbours, as well as giving plenty of thermal and sound insulation. The multi-use entertainment/sports room in the basement has a world-leading golf simulator installed, which was carefully selected by the team to ensure a professional standard of golf can be practised at home. Across this myriad of ingenious innovations, the biggest achievement for the Rigby & Rigby team was the installation of the first car lift next to a heritage property. Designed around the client’s electric vehicle, the lift transports the client down to the rear entrance to the property or passenger lift. Reclaimed York stone masks the car lift and accentuates the external features that were sympathetically restored. The team will be seeking to incorporate new techniques and creative innovations over the coming years to ensure that its 200th project is as spectacular as its 100th and just as beautiful.
