BUILD Construction and Engineering Awards 2025 Abundant Air was founded in 2022, with the goal of delivering reliable, honest, and high quality heating and cooling solutions to homes and businesses alike. What initially began as a family-run business has quickly grown into a trusted local team of certified technicians and support professionals, serving as a proudly independent HVAC company. Today, Abundant Air stands as the leading service provider of top-tier installation, repair, and maintenance services for all types of heating and cooling systems throughout Winnipeg. Since its inception, Abundant Air’s core values have remained the same: integrity, transparency, and real care for its clientele. These values shape its every operation and ensure that the company focuses on doing its work right the first time – no cutting corners, no pressure sales, simply honest work that its clients can count upon. At Abundant Air, service is not about merely installing equipment, but about creating comfort, peace of mind, and long-term solutions. No job is too big or small; whether it is an installation, maintenance, or repair, Abundant Air will be there to deliver excellence. To this end, the company offers a comprehensive service that includes the installation, repair, and maintenance of furnaces, air conditioners, ductless systems, and heat pumps; HVAC Standing for Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning, HVAC systems are integral in regulating indoor climates, though many homeowners tend to neglect continual maintenance and repair. However, HVAC maintenance should not be considered a daunting task or an unnecessary cost – and needn’t be overlooked or avoided. Ongoing maintenance is essential for identifying and repairing system inefficiencies, which can lead to costly challenges if left unresolved. Abundant Air is a leading HVAC company based in Winnipeg, on a mission to offer high quality HVAC installation and repair to its local community. We heard more from Barrett Ferguson below, Owner of Abundant Air, as the company is named in the Construction and Engineering Awards 2025. Jul25012 Best HVAC Company 2025 – Winnipeg services for both residential and commercial spaces, including VRF systems and large-scale mechanical units; and preventative measures through its Peace of Mind membership plans, which include discounts, priority services, and scheduled tune-ups. Its services are delivered by a team with extensive experience in working with all major HVAC systems and components, both residential and commercial. Through ongoing education and training programmes, the Abundant Air team remains up to date with the latest equipment and industry best practices – allowing the company to make informed decisions on new heating and AC systems, as well as properly service existing equipment. No matter the type of HVAC system presented, Air Abundant is equipped to deliver the full spectrum of installation, maintenance, and repair services to provide clients with comfort, year round. With each new project undertaken, Abundant Air maintains a meticulous focus on a number of elements, including safety, through proper ventilation, electrical, and gas handling; clean and careful installation, always respecting and cleaning the home behind the team; utilising high quality materials and top rated equipment to facilitate optimal results; and maintaining transparent communication at every step of the way. The team is encouraged to view each home or building as if it were their own, a strategic approach to ensure consistency in service excellence. “Our process always starts with listening,” Barrett added. “We want to understand what is going wrong, what is missing, and what the client’s expectations are. From there, we run proper load calculations, analyse building specs, and recommend the most efficient systems based on the actual needs of the space.” While the company has undertaken countless projects, Barrett cited one of the more challenging, yet memorable ones to be a sameday air conditioning installation completed for a family in North Winnipeg – during the peak of a July heatwave. The home has an older layout, with tight attic access, outdated ductwork, and limited space around the electrical panel. While most contractors would have split this into a two-to-three-day job, Abundant Air recognised that the family had small children and would need the cooling restored that very day. “It wasn’t easy,” Barrett recalled, “but the teamwork, experience, and trust in our process made it happen. The family was beyond grateful, and that kind of immediate impact is what makes our work so rewarding. These moments mean everything to us – they show us that what we are doing is making a difference in people’s daily lives.” “These moments mean everything to us – they show us that what we are doing is making a difference in people’s daily lives.” For its significant impact on the lives of its clients, Abundant Air has established a remarkable reputation within the community of Winnipeg. As a result, the company has built a solid online presence, boasting an

BUILD Construction and Engineering Awards 2025 outstanding rating on Google comprising more than 300 five-star reviews. One client wrote: “Highly recommended! Huge shout out to the fantastic team at Abundant Air; this week, they replaced our furnace, air conditioning, and hot water tank, and we are already reaping the benefits. The improvement in air circulation and temperature was noticeable immediately, and we know there will be savings going forward. The process from start to finish – from sales, through installation, and clean-up – was professional, informative, and efficient. Abundant Air was a pleasure to deal with, and we couldn’t be happier with the service!” While another reported: “Thanks so much to the staff at Abundant Air for going above and beyond to get our system planned out and operational. We had a few different companies come to take a look and walk away, so a big thanks for going the extra mile to work with us and help us get our business off the ground. Appreciated beyond words!” And a final client said: “We recently had a new AC installed by Abundant Air and are very happy with the final results. Everyone at the company is incredibly professional and take the time to explain everything you require in great detail which, for us, made the decision to use them even more obvious. We were so impressed that we also signed up for their Peace of Mind maintenance plan and look forward to continuing our association with this company going forward. Do yourself a favour and avoid the big-name nightmare companies just looking to make a quick sale. Call the professionals at Abundant Air for all your HVAC needs!” “To sum it up: we are a company that is small enough to care and experienced enough to deliver.” The HVAC space in Winnipeg is highly competitive, but Abundant Air shines for its consistency, care, and trust. Clients of Abundant Air know that the company will show up as promised, answer the phone when called, and solve their complex problems without upselling or pushing unnecessary services. A significant driver of this trust has been the game-changing implementation of Peace of Mind Memberships, offering clients real value, priority access, and peace of mind to customers who do not want to worry about surprise system breakdowns. The Peace of Mind memberships are available in three distinct levels, each designed to suit a different need or budget. The Bronze plan offers essential HVAC care and priority emergency service, featuring up to 15% off on repairs, two annual preventative HVAC maintenance service visits, and discounted dispatch fees. Designed to provide reassurance without financial strain, the Bronze plan is perfectly tailored to homeowners who wish to maintain their HVAC system and remain within budget. The Silver plan provides members with the benefits of the Bronze plan – and a unique opportunity. With the Silver plan, homeowners receive credit towards HVAC replacement that amounts to 100% of their membership fees. Up to $500 in value, this credit is an outstanding opportunity that makes upgrading or replacing HVAC equipment affordable and accessible to Abundant Air’s loyal, valued clientele. Encompassing Abundant Air’s comprehensive HVAC care, the Gold plan includes all the benefits of the Bronze and Silver plans, with the addition of an exclusive 5% discount on new HVAC equipment installations and one annual whole-home plumbing inspection. This plan provides members with total coverage, reassuring them that their heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems are maintained to the highest possible standard, all year. Each tier provides clients with exclusive access to hassle-free HVAC maintenance, priority services during emergencies, and substantial savings on repairs and replacements – serving as the ideal solution for those seeking to protect both their peace and the longevity of their HVAC systems. Such an offering has enabled Abundant Air to stand out in a saturated market, positioning itself at the very forefront of both industry advancement and client services. To maintain its leading position and remain one step ahead of the competition, Abundant Air recognises the importance of continually monitoring the market for emerging trends and shifts. Winnipeg’s HVAC industry is heavily influenced by extreme weather, with bitter cold winters and increasingly hotter summers. This shifting dependency drives a strong demand for heating and cooling alike, especially for energyefficient and reliable systems.
7 Alongside this rise, Abundant Air has observed a growing awareness of eco-friendly technologies and lower energy consumption, as consumers begin to significantly consider the impact their choices have on the environment. With this rising consciousness – in combination with the area’s fluctuating weather – Abundant Air has found that heat pumps and high-efficiency systems are becoming more popular and is actively assisting clients in making the switch with rebates and consultations. Renowned throughout its community for its responsiveness, professionalism, and unparalleled workmanship, Abundant Air has been recognised in BUILD magazine’s Construction and Engineering Awards for two consecutive years: first, named Winnipeg’s Healing and Cooling Experts of the Year 2024, and then as Winnipeg’s Best HVAC Company 2025. These awards are a direct testament to the reputation and trust that Abundant Air has fostered within its client base since its inception. Looking to the future, Abundant Air aims to build upon its previous success and continue growing its clients trust, with ambitious plans for future innovations. Moving forward, the company will be focused on three key goals that promise to not only expand but enhance its capabilities and the calibre of support it provides its clientele. These goals include the expansion of its Peace and Mind Membership programme, with the goal of reaching more homeowners and businesses; training and hiring new technicians to meet growing industry-wide demand; and introducing new technologies – such as geothermal systems and smart controls – to improve both comfort and sustainability. Each new endeavour is a unique opportunity for Abundant Air to demonstrate its innovation and grow alongside its clientele. While these initiatives vary, their overarching sentiment remains the same – as Barrett shared, “We are excited to keep evolving and helping our clients stay ahead of HVAC trends.” Contact: Barrett Ferguson Company: Abundant Air Inc. BUILD Construction and Engineering Awards 2025 AIM-Jul25183 Everyone Loves C.A.S.H. LLC Most Trusted Nationwide HVAC Contractor 2025 – USA & BUILD Client Service Excellence Award 2025
11 Founded in 1987, Everyone Loves C.A.S.H. LLC (the tongue-in-cheek acronym stands for ‘Complete Air Service Hub’) has been in the HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) game now for almost 40 years. Starting out as just a small operation, the company has grown into a trusted partner for HVAC services in the US, and today works with companies, homeowners, and property management groups alike to provide everything from 24/7 HVAC repair and maintenance to HVAC diagnostics and troubleshooting. Below, we take a closer look at this full-service partner. right place, and get the job done – all whilst keeping clients updated along the way to keep disruption to a minimum. “We also follow up, which a lot of folks don’t do”, a representative explained. “We want to know the job was done right, that the issue is resolved, and the client is happy. Our ethos is rooted in being a partner, not just a vendor.” The strengths of such an approach have led to the company building exciting relationships with dozens of like-minded individuals and businesses. This includes a recent one with The Scion Group, which manages a diverse property portfolio across the country and needed reliable HVAC support. Becoming the commercial HVAC contractor of choice for this enterprise has certainly been rewarding – but not without its fair share of challenges. These revolve around high volume and fast timelines, which are only exacerbated by the fact that the student and multi-family housing comprising much of this portfolio means there is a lot moving parts and factors to consider. Again, this is where keeping people in the loop really pays off. “We don’t just respond to work orders. We help streamline operations for our partners and make their lives easier. That’s the win.” It is the combination of these factors discussed above – mainly the blending of a National reach with small-business values – that sets Everyone Loves C.A.S.H. LLC apart in a space where there is no shortage of HVAC companies. Being fast, available, and consistent goes some way in setting a business apart, and by not overcomplicating things and being easy to both work with and trust, this reliable HVAC company shows it is just that. With HVAC being a space that is evolving all the time, the only way for companies like Everyone Likes C.A.S.H. LLC to stay ahead and keep adding value is to remain in tune with these developments and ensure compliance is achieved across the board. Given this is a company with a National footprint, things are made harder by it having to navigate shifts across different markets. For example, one area may see an increased focus on energy-efficient systems, but another might experience changing refrigerant standards. Technology has also proven pivotal in the rapid development of this space, and clients from across the company’s National network all want real-time updates, better reporting, and fewer surprises regarding their HVAC systems. The team have therefore adapted quickly to these shifts, and despite evolving their systems and processes to continue to exceed expectations being an ongoing challenge, it is one these professionals welcome. “At the end of the day, it’s still about doing solid work and being someone people can count on. That part hasn’t changed.” As it strikes a balance between timeless service and integrating new technologies, Everyone Loves C.A.S.H. LLC is looking ahead to a big couple of months – with new partnerships, a ramping up of its HVAC services to more states, and continuous system enhancements all in the pipeline for the rest of 2025 and beyond. This is just the tip of the iceberg, and the team share with us that some exciting new programmes are also in the works to help property managers iron out any HVAC issues before they turn into problems. This is all part of an ambitious overall plan to not just respond faster, but to help clients avoid HVAC downtime altogether. In pursuit of this aim, this full-service HVAC service provider is willing to do whatever it takes to keep pushing, growing, and doing things in the right way. It is this unbreakable spirit that underlines why Everyone Loves C.A.S.H. LLC is more than just another HVAC company, but a team people enjoy working with. Reflecting on the duo of awards it has received as a result of its dedication to raising the bar in nationwide HVAC services, a speaker for the company summarised: “Whether it’s a small job or a National account, we show up, get it done, and back up our work. Our name is catchy, sure – but the service we provide is what people really remember.” Nearly four decades of excellence and client satisfaction uphold this claim, as does Everyone Loves C.A.S.H. LLC being deservedly recognised as the Most Trusted Nationwide HVAC Contractor 2025 – USA and with our coveted BUILD Client Service Excellence Award 2025 in this, our annual Construction and Engineering Awards programme. Contact: Tim Roach Company: Everyone Loves C.A.S.H. LLC Web Address: https://elchvac.com/home A National HVAC contractor delivering Nationwide HVAC services, Everyone Loves C.A.S.H. LLC currently operates in states such as Texas, Oklahoma, Florida, Idaho, Maine, North Carolina and Louisiana, with more to come in 2025. This huge reach positions the company as the go-to provider for scalable HVAC support across multiple states, a moniker this team have embraced by always doing things the right way for their clients – taking no shortcuts, never inflating their pricing, and springing no surprises across their solutions. These areas are something Everyone Loves C.A.S.H. LLC has been passionate about since the beginning, seen through an unchanging set of core values that revolves around the cornerstones of honesty, high-quality work, fast turnaround times, and always showing up when it says it will. As a company spokesperson told us: “That mindset hasn’t changed since day one, and it’s what has helped us grow without losing sight of what made us different in the first place.” Now, 38 years later, this drive is stronger than ever. Living up to its name as a full-service, fastresponse HVAC company, Everyone Loves C.A.S.H. LLC offers everything its clients could possibly need from a HVAC partner, from straightforward diagnostics and repairs to full system swaps, seasonal maintenance, and refrigerant conversion. Excellence across this diverse service suite is achieved by the team working hand in hand with the likes of property managers and facility leaders, ensuring systems run smoothly and that those within the properties are safe and happy. “Our approach is simple: be fast, be clear, and do great work.” Everyone Loves C.A.S.H. LLC recognises that upholding its reputation is something that starts and ends with every project. Thus, it begins each and every one with strong communication, taking the time to understand what a client actually needs, not just what has been requested on paper. After all of this is figured is out, it comes down successful execution, making sure that the right people show up on time, at the
BUILD Construction and Engineering Awards 2025 Covering all aspects of building work for clients based in Cumbria and the Lake District, Lakeland Building’s combination of trusted builders and a bespoke service sees it excel when it comes to delivering professional building services across the region. Although it is more than capable of carrying out those traditional building services – such as foundations, finishes, extensions, conversions, and new builds – to the highest quality, its niche lies in school repair work, an area its name is today synonymous with. The team here recognise that school buildings play a huge role in shaping the minds of learners young and old and creating environments where their education is allowed to thrive. The experience these contractors have in providing state-of-the-art learning facilities for educational institutions, from primary schools to universities and everything in between, makes them Cumbria’s goto providers for these types of jobs. Lakeland Building has secured this reputation by collaborating closely with senior figures behind the institutions it is commissioned to work Best Minor School Work Contractors 2025 – Cumbria Lakeland Building Limited is a reliable, Cumbria-based building firm specialising in the provision of services ranging from minor school work to home renovations and new builds. A small company, Lakeland Building is comprised of just eight employees, including Nathan Grove, its working director. However, what this team lack in size they more than make up for in expertise and dedication, seen through their track record of completing jobs on time, within budget, and to a high standard. We had the pleasure of speaking with Nathan to find out more about these projects. on, as well as renowned local architects, to ensure that each project more than meets the needs of both the school itself and its students. The team’s approach balances functionality and sustainability with safety, seen through their use of modern design principles and construction methods to create environments complete with everything from natural lighting to flexible learning spaces. Aiding this modern and comprehensive approach to their work in schools is the fact that the team thrive under pressure and are well accustomed to working towards tight deadlines and still delivering high-calibre work. This stems from the fact that many of the school repair jobs Lakeland Building does need to be carried out in half terms or over the course of longer breaks such as Easter, Christmas, or during the summer holidays. Getting everything finished and ready for when term starts up again is not always easy, but Nathan is incredibly proud of the fact that his team have not failed yet, allowing education to carry on impeded by the likes of scaffolding, loud noise, or anything else that comes AIM-Jul25071
13 about as a result of ongoing construction work. A great example of this came last summer, when the team completed a knock-through classroom extension for a primary school, executing the job over the summer to make sure not a single teaching day was lost. “Then, at the same time, we completed an entrance improvement contract in a separate school, which we again finished with no school days lost.” Whether Lakeland Building is leveraging its skills as a minor school work contractor across Cumbria or performing some if its commercial main contractor services, the way it approaches projects is the same – with this rigorous method leading to successful outcomes. Talking us through this process in more detail, Nathan shared: “The main thing to ensure is thorough pre-start planning with a robust decisionmaking system in place, accompanied with an agreed fixed-contract sum and sufficient contingency.” Although not very glamorous, getting these basics laid out makes sure the small team here have the provisions in place to source quality materials and the right support for the job. They often use the same subcontractors for this work, teams they trust and know they can get the most out of, which only adds to the results-driven reputation Lakeland Building has established. This is something that is also rooted in the company’s value system, which is based around areas such as expertise, quality, and innovation. Markers of these values can be found in some more of the recent projects the company has worked on, outside of the school environment as well as within it. Despite this praise, these luxury homebuilders and Airbnb renovation experts in Cumbria and the Lake District remain as humble as ever, refuting any titles or monikers and simply reinforcing that they are a team of skilled, hardworking tradespeople who feed off their shared experiences and the great network of subcontractors they have built to support them. “Above all, we are just your usual contractors with a passion for completing projects with tight timescales and a commitment to not impeding teaching programmes when we work on behalf of schools and educational institutions.” With this selflessness to boot, Nathan shares that the company has multiple projects in the pipeline for its valued clients over the coming months, as well as an initiative in place to support further expansion through a strong chain of subcontractors. Whilst the company more than has enough work to keep ticking over, it is always on the lookout for more projects across its many areas of expertise, from minor school work to apartment conversions and house renovations, with immediate availability in some cases. A company that is forever humble, recognises its strengths, and – perhaps most importantly – is aware of its limits, Lakeland Building Limited’s spotless track record, personalised service, and qualityfirst approach set it apart in this space. Even if Nathan himself is a lot more modest about the success the company achieves, we have recognised its contributions to the people and communities of Cumbria and the Lake District and are immensely proud to name these minor school work contractors as winners in this programme. We were tasked with supplying a comprehensive suite of stainless steel clinical products across surgical theatres, preparation areas, and recovery bays. The key challenge for us was adhering to strict delivery schedules amidst ongoing global supply chain delays.” Thanks to Emery Industries’ local manufacturing capability, the company was able to respond rapidly, customising units to meet unique specific spatial and infection control requirements. With all components manufactured in Australia, the client could be confident in the quality and compliance of the finished products as well as the reliability of the service. Collaborating closely with site project teams, the designers at Emery Industries ensure delivery of durable, fit-for-purpose solutions which meet strict clinical specifications. Simone talks us through the company’s formula for success. She told us: “Our approach is very hands-on and solutionfocused. We begin with a detailed consultation to understand the environment, workflow, and infection control needs of each site. From there, our design engineers work directly with healthcare stakeholders, project managers, and procurement teams to develop tailored solutions that integrate seamlessly into new or existing facilities. Our main focus is on clinical usability, compliance, and longevity. We want to ensure that every product performs reliably in a demanding hospital environment.” With healthcare in Australia currently undergoing significant transformation, major works programs are driving demand for high-quality, fit for purpose, compliant equipment. Hospitals and health services are under increasing pressure to source from Australian-owned, standards-compliant manufacturers, which is encouraging for the local manufacturing sector as a whole. Factors such as location, infection prevention, and supply chain resilience are shaping procurement decisions, highlighting Emery Industries as an obvious choice for organisations seeking customised, sustainable and compliant solutions. So, what’s in store for the team at Emery Industries for the rest of 2025? James told us: “The rest of the year is looking promising for us. We’re currently supplying equipment for the new Mater Springfield Hospital in Brisbane, the Forensic and Scientific Services facility in Coopers Plains, and the continuation of the Frankston Hospital Project. All these projects demand a high level of product customisation and infection control integration.” Exciting new product developments in modular systems and height-adjustable clinical trolleys are also being rolled out to meet the evolving needs of operating theatres and treatment rooms. Although less obvious in the clinical workflow, storage solutions can also impact the efficiency of any clinical environment. To maximise efficiency, Emery Industries has also developed a range of modern, modular stainless steel shelving, including Wiremax shelving for bulk items and MediMesh shelving for sterile areas. These products contribute to improved hygiene, reduced infection risk, and streamlined workflows. As part of its commitment to ongoing investment in technology and automation, Emery Industries is also making efficiency enhancements at its Arundel facility. These improvements will support the growing demand for the company’s products and services through 2025 and beyond. BUILD Construction and Engineering Awards 2025 Jul25085 Apr23339 Most Innovative Virtual Facilities Management Solution 2025 - UK Based in the heart of London, an innovative company is poised to revolutionise the facilities management industry for good. Identifying a gaping hole in the strategy for servicing buildings, engineer James Brown devised a plan to use state-of-the-art technology to address a very real-world problem. Now the Managing Director of engineering tech start-up, Building Services AI, James told us more about his invention and his plans for the future below.
17 As a building services engineer, there’s nothing more frustrating than arriving on-site with less than the bare minimum of information to work from. Questions such as ‘Where are the boilers/the motor room/the chillers?’ or ‘How do I access the roof/drain the sprinkler system/test the emergency lights?’ waste everyone’s time and energy, not to mention increasing the client’s bill. Even simple questions such as ‘How high is the building?’ can stall projects unnecessarily. These are just a few of the reasons why James of Building Services AI hit upon a system to ensure an engineer’s time and effectiveness are always maximised, even if it’s the first time they’ve attended a site. James told us: “One of the consistent and prolific issues within the building services and facilities management industries is the dependency on the site knowledge of either one or two individuals to keep a building running smoothly. Key contacts are relied upon to provide information for callouts. They are often contacted during annual leave, and ultimately, their essential knowledge is lost when they leave or retire.” Embracing the latest in AI technology, James and the team have created a virtual engineer to take the pressure off key staff members. The aptly named ‘Ask James Ai’ is on hand 24/7 to provide answers to questions and offer suggestions for problem-solving. The virtual engineer is expertly equipped to provide accurate, precise details about each building. This ensures there’s always someone on-call to help and advise, even when key personnel are enjoying a well-earned break. Ask James Ai removes the single point of failure from building maintenance challenges, ensuring engineering tasks and repairs run as smoothly as possible. Asked how Building Services AI achieves this, James explained: “We conduct a range of surveys from plant-only to full intrusive inspections where we examine, document and categorise an entire building. We then use this data to train the virtual engineer. On-site teams get instant access to the entire building’s plant and equipment information in one place. We go into much more detail than the original operating and maintenance documents (O&M’s). The aim is for any competent and skilled engineer to have the information they need to maintain any building at their fingertips.” In addition, Building Services AI creates a comprehensive catalogue of 3D images of plant rooms and risers, providing videos and models of all areas of the building, including vertical shafts and pipework. Ask James Ai also integrates with the building’s BMS (Building Maintenance System) and control plant to gather data. This enables a visual of the location of any piece of plant or equipment to be sent to the attending engineer before they arrive on site. Despite the huge variety in plant and machinery available and the many different types of buildings, James finds it easy to gather information from the cloud for most modern buildings. However, details for older buildings can be more challenging to find. James enjoys the physical side of the job, exploring buildings to find the information he needs. But even so, when buildings have had multiple tenants, and documents have been lost or damaged, finding everything he needs to create a virtual engineer can take time. However, once the virtual engineer is created, detailed information is available instantly to those who need it. With the UK’s building maintenance and facilities industry currently estimated to be worth £50 billion a year, the shortfall in skilled and qualified engineers is reaching a crisis point. Many contracts are understaffed and rely on external engineers to cover the gaps. By investing in a virtual engineer, facilities management companies can eliminate unnecessary additional effort and save precious time and resources. In this very competitive industry, clients’ maintenance contracts are changing hands on average every 3 to 5 years. Clients often attempt to retain experienced staff under the new contract. But when this is not possible, a knowledge gap is created between the incoming and outgoing teams, leaving the building at risk. James told us: “By employing our virtual engineer, clients can eliminate this issue. We continually verify each site’s information to ensure its virtual engineer stays up to date, just like a full-time staff member or team would. As part of our ongoing packages, we visit each site at regular intervals to ensure that the information Ask James Ai holds remains accurate. Depending on client requirements and the package they choose, we visit either bi-monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or annually. Clients can also send us interim updates via email.” There are currently few competitors employing artificial intelligence technology in the same way as Building Services AI, despite many IT companies having the capacity and the ability to fill the space. With its in-depth industry knowledge and specific expertise, Building Services AI is well-placed to stay ahead of the curve and become a market leader in using technology to enhance building services. James said: “Our USP is that we have a building services engineering pedigree. This enables us to fully understand the unique requirements of every client and the challenges they face in today’s facilities management landscape. We aren’t just developers with a product to sell; we’re engineers offering a comprehensive solution!” In 2025, James’ mission is to reach as many building managers as possible to present the benefits of Ask James Ai. He said: “We are always happy to visit a site, chat on Teams or over the phone with anyone who thinks a virtual engineer could be beneficial to them. There’s a contact page on our website, and we can also be found on LinkedIn.” Building Services AI is currently rolling out its virtual engineer in highprofile buildings and locations across the UK. BUILD Construction and Engineering Awards 2025 AIM-Jul25045 Eurospacers AB The plastic spacer industry has always been one associated with an array of different problems; while some products are considered better than others, no one spacer has been declared to provide “everything”. If a plastic spacer is easy and quick to work with, it is typically found to be lacking in other aspects, such as quality or environmental effects, and vice versa. Developed by Eurospacers, Speedies® is a plastic spacer range that promises to deliver it all – speed, simplicity, strength, and significant savings. We caught up with Stefan Andersson, CEO of Eurospacers, as the company gains recognition for its proprietary product. Most Revolutionary Reinforcement Spacer Product Range 2025: Speedies® Eurospacers was founded in Sweden in 2010, with the aim of making waves in the plastic spacer market. Since its inception, Eurospacers’ operations have been centred on the user experience, delivering solutions designed to make their everyday lives easier. This focus has not wavered once over the years, as the company understands that establishing its range as the market’s product of choice is the most effective way to ensure the sustained success of its true clientele: distributors, retailers, wholesalers, and specialists in reinforcement and concrete accessories. Over the years, Eurospacers has gained renown for striving to make a difference, going its own way, and daring to believe in what it does. Everything is possible at Eurospacers, a company driven by two central elements: unrivalled innovation and a strong conviction that things can truly be done better and simpler, for all involved. This drive has propelled Eurospacers into a frontrunning market position, having quickly risen to stand as the largest manufacturer of plastic reinforcement spacers in the Nordic region – with its flagship product even reaching users around Europe and far beyond. The company’s immense success has not always been so; just two years after its inception, in 2012, Eurospacers was struggling to survive. The company was new to the market, sales were still low, and it was desperately competing against products manufactured by Europe’s larger spacer manufacturers. At this time, Eurospacers elected to map out and analyse all the negative aspects of existing plastic spacers, including its own. It was soon established that in every area – economy, time, quality, environment, work environment, logistics, and more – there was potential for significant development. Put simply, reinforcement spacers is a product group that has commonly been considered a necessary evil. They undoubtedly fulfil an important function – to ensure that reinforcement is at the correct height in a concrete structure – but working with them has often been hard and unergonomic, while there are often complaints about quality, or
