2018 Construction & Engineering Awards Build 37 ince its inception in 2014, Mas Architecture has been involved in the design and delivery of many diverse projects including; hospitality, healthcare, lifestyle, work place, civic / public, retail and infrastructure projects. Over the years the practice has grown to provide consultancy services in the field of architecture, interior and landscape design. Maan explores how far the firm has come and how it continues to work to provide clients with exceptional designs and services. “Here at MAS Architecture, our projects are influenced by the context they are placed within. We believe strongly that buildings should be connected to the urban fabric through integration of not only the physical but also the socio-cultural landscape, and that the end product should be the result of continuous dialogue and based on sound research. “Additionally, we believe that our architecture should represent the language of our time; changing in parallel with the dynamics of the context. As a result of these beliefs, we work collaboratively with our clients and engage them throughout the design process, constantly leading ourselves and our staff as we promote a knowledge-based culture and excellence in everything we do.” Collaboration is central to the firm’s success, and as such throughout the project it works closely with clients to gain an insight into what they require, as Maan highlights. “To ensure excellence in every project, at MAS Architecture we listen to our clients and work collaboratively with them throughout the design process. Communication is important in all projects, and as such we always start a project by requesting a brief from our clients, we then brain storm ideas and test our ideas against the brief and the client. We inject a lot of effort in the early stages of the design process to ensure the brief and the concept is robust.” Looking to the future, Maan plans to build upon the current success of MAS Architecture and grow the practice internationally, as he proudly concludes. “Moving forward, we look forward to developing our practice and to open a number of offices across the UK, Asia and the Middle East.
