Architecture Awards 2026 Excelling across architecture, construction, and interior design for fine homes, the Fox Group is a nationally recognised, full-service residential design and construction firm based in Holladay, Utah. Its work is rooted in classical architecture and every project stems from the belief that every new home should carry the character, craftsmanship, and sense of permanence associated with homes that have stood for generations. The Fox Group’s own Marley White caught up with us for more. Most Client-Focused Luxury Residential Architecture & Design Studio 2026 – USA & Most Innovative Residential Design/Build Project 2026 (USA): France Residence The goal of the Fox Group is to create the best designdriven, client-tailored homes possible, as great houses are more than just structures we inhabit; they are the sanctuaries, legacies, and expressions of the people who live within them. Drawing inspiration from the form and scale of classical architecture, the homes that the Fox Group designs inside and out are made to be heirlooms defined by quality craftsmanship and modernised living. Working primarily with clients building or transforming sizeable residences, those who seek out the Fox Group are those after something deeply personal for their home, not something shaped by current design trends. The studio is able to take the client’s vision for the home, combine it with its expertise of the architectural traditions of Europe and the American Northeast, and create a home that is balanced, beautiful, and becoming. “Focused on sight lines, symmetry, balance and flow, each home we design is uniquely individual and thoughtful.” Every home the Fox Group creates feels like it belongs – to its setting, to its owners, and eventually to the families who inherent them. This is only achieved by its three teams (architecture, interior design, and construction) taking the responsibility of designing and building the homes very seriously. Alignment is achieved via the shared belief that, whilst perfection is not obtainable, striving for it will lead them to excellence. One project that certainly demonstrates the excellence of the Fox Group is the France Residence, which was completed a few years ago by its teams. What made this project particularly special was that it was handled entirely in-house, with a tight deadline given that it was to be featured in Architectural Digest. The home itself was for the famous fashion designer Tan France and his husband Rob France, who came to the Fox Group with a very strong and deeply personal vision for what they wanted the house to be. Marley told us: “The house became a chance to combine our love of traditional architecture with their individual histories and influences. The exterior is rooted in English Tudor architecture, while the interiors weave together English, American, and South Asian references. Rather than diluting those influences into something neutral, we wanted each of them to have a genuine presence in the home. That took a lot of custom work and close collaboration with craftspeople.” Details like Tan’s closet, which saw artisans stencil the cabinetry by hand to evoke the historic interiors of South Asia, show that this project, despite the scale and detail, is unmistakably their home. It tells the story of the people who live there, and that is always the goal for the Fox Group, across every house built over the last 20 years. Although these designs may be celebrated today, when the Fox Group first opened its doors two decades ago, the classical styles it favours were uncommon in Utah, leading the team to be told that the style was too ‘non-Utah’. Trusting their instincts and proceeding anyway, they soon discovered a real appetite for luxury custom homes with history, character, and traditional craftsmanship. And these principles continue to guide their work today. Entering an exciting stretch as we move towards the final months of 2026, the Fox Group is continuing to expand its portfolio of residential projects in Utah and across the US, building the kind of highly considered, traditionally rooted homes for individual families that have brought it so much success over the years. A book with Rizzoli is also set to follow, with this spanning a collection of the studio’s work and examining the philosophy behind it. Ultimately, what the Fox Group demonstrates at every turn is that traditional residential architecture and interior design does not have to mean living in the past. Its enduring homes become a part of the family’s story, grow more beautiful through use, hold decades of memories, and eventually feel as though they could never have lived anywhere else. This distinction puts the Fox Group in a league of its own, and has led to its recognition here in our Architecture Awards 2026.
