Going beyond aesthetics, HH Interiors aims to create spaces that support the way people live and enhance everyday life. We heard more from Founder and Creative Director Helen Howe. Best Residential Interior Design Business 2026 – Hertfordshire & Best Family Home Interior Project 2026 (Hertfordshire): Harpenden Contemporary Refurb Contact Details: Contact: Helen Howe Company: HH Interiors Web Address: www.hh-interiors.co.uk “Beautifully unique, stylishly yours: that is what we are always working towards.” Since its inception in 2017, HH Interiors has offered a full interior design service that spans from concept to completion. This comprehensive suite of offerings includes concept design, space planning, structural remodelling, detailed design, sourcing, budget management, and remaining on-site to see the project through to completion. The studio utilises the latest 3D modelling tools, CGI technology, and walk-through animations to breathe life into its designs and its clients’ visions. At HH Interiors, every project begins the same way: a proper conversation to brainstorm ideas and understand the client’s style, how they want to live, and the solutions they need. Then, the team focuses on developing detailed designs, space planning, and 3D visuals so that the client can assess the solution, discussing and adapting to ensure the perfect fit. The client will always walk through their new home before anything is touched and are provided with samples of all the finishes to support this. “Every project starts with really listening to a client’s lifestyle and story before we even think about selecting a colour palette. That belief hasn’t changed since I started this business alone in 2017, and it is just as important now that we’ve grown to a team of six.” This approach has proven successful; enquiries were up 32% last year and 43% of new clients came through referrals. Whilst this is wonderful news, it also requires the team to be disciplined about not overstretching itself. Rather than taking on more, HH Interiors has focused on tightening what goes on behind the scenes: implementing better systems, clearer processes, and bringing in a consultant to ensure that its operations genuinely support the team. “It’s not easy juggling multiple projects with all their moving parts – making sure clients feel fully supported and trust us completely, while also making sure the team feels supported and empowered. That balance is honestly the hardest part of running this business day to day,” Helen shared. “We’re careful not to overload the team, and I’m still personally involved in every project we take on as the Creative Director; that is non-negotiable for me, and it is how nothing gets diluted as we grow.” HH Interiors demonstrated its strategic approach when undertaking the Harpenden Contemporary Refurb, a project featuring two offices, children’s nooks, guest quarters, a luxe master suite, and cleverly concealed storage. Reimagining how a family home should flow, the HH Interiors team worked hard to balance open, social zones with private retreats, integrating hidden doors, striking level changes, and a luxurious style. The end result earned recognition as Hertfordshire’s Best Family Home Interior Project 2026. Looking to the future, HH Interiors is pursuing deliberate growth; the team will be taking on bigger, more ambitious residential projects while protecting the personal touch that got HH Interiors where it is today. Behind the scenes, Helen intends to refine the studio’s systems to streamline the team’s admin process, whilst also investing in the next generation of designers coming through the studio. For almost a decade, HH Interiors has made significant strides to establish itself as a trusted partner to homeowners throughout its local community. Nearly every completed project is supported by a glowing testimonial, and the team has built solid, longstanding relationships with architects, suppliers, and craftsmen across Hertfordshire, many of whom have become the studio’s greatest advocates. For its exceptional contributions to countless houses across the region, HH Interiors has been rightfully recognised as Hertfordshire’s Best Residential Interior Design Business 2026. “Winning these awards means a great deal,” Helen shared, “because, together, they recognise both the business as a whole and one specific home we poured everything into. Harpenden being recognised alongside our own title feels like proof that growth and craftsmanship don’t have to be at odds; for us, they go hand-in-hand. HH Interiors is built on relationships – with clients, with trades, with each other – just as much as it is built on design. Beautifully unique, stylishly yours: that is what we are always working towards.” HH Interiors
