Designs lend themselves to ‘selfie’ moments, a critical factor in today’s society. A classic example of the team’s work can be seen at the Crown Towers in Sydney, Australia. This grand landmark was opened in December 2020, boasting a luxurious hotel, as well as retail and dining venues, with the casino and Luxury Residences. The team at St Legere Design International were asked to assist with the ground level entry and Porte Cochere, three major pedestrian entrances, and three al fresco dining terraces facing the harbor. A large hotel pool on the second upper terrace hosts private cabanas, public gathering spaces, connecting dining and beverage areas, surrounding a unique horizon edge elevated pool. On the third upper terrace, a private swimming pool garden was created, along with a separate semi-public tennis court that also provides a performance venue with stage and lighting, as well as other opulent areas for various functions. These pools were developed in three dimensions, with various levels, and with dramatic horizon overflow edges visually connecting the pools to the harbor views. The pools are graced with flowering trees and semi-tropical plantings to imbue a resort feel to the very modern architectural tower. It was essential that the St Legere Design International team coordinate closely with Architects and Engineers to ensure there was appropriate support for these gardens above the large open spaces of the Casino and Ballroom. S Of course, this incredibly challenging project was made more difficult by the restrictions created by the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite this, the team provided a great deal of overview through the use of video calls and detailed photographs. In this way, it’s easy to see how the design team and construction contractors could work as effectively as possible. The Asian market has plenty of room for projects such as this, which is where the team at St Legere Design International excel. While the pandemic has slowed many projects, the team have built up good relationships with clients that ensure they are always in high demand.
