To ensure that this space was designed with appropriate care and attention to its surroundings, Samuele undertook an immense amount of research, working alongside nurserymen to find exemplary plants. All of this was undertaken alongside the usual approach that identified the typical shapes and proportions of the garden of these historic houses. The work he and his team did goes beyond design, ensuring that ideas and concepts can be effectively realized and represented in a project. The impact of COVID-19 has asked many questions of people like Samuele. There have been pushes to redesign metropolitan spaces in order to include new open spaces and trees. These would break up the urban continuity of streets and buildings. Change doesn’t happen by accident, it’s brought about by peoples’ habits evolving and altering over time. Samuele believes wholeheartedly that designers like him could have a profound impact on people’s lives if they are able to address this change. In many ways, this exemplifies Samuele’s attitude to life and his work. He has an uncanny ability to see one step beyond other people, visualizing the potential of a project, and the way in which it could affect people. When he starts a job, he can see the final result in his mind. It’s born in his heart and gives him a passion to see the job through. An error in a large project may not be immediately noticed, but has a substantial impact on the whole. In a small project, it could be disastrous and as such high standards are always encouraged throughout.
